Exhale - in Motion
A Yoga Inspired Therapy Group
Exhale – In Motion is about learning and developing new skills to enhance your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being while reducing the impact of traumatic stress, burnout and anxiety. This program integrates trauma-informed behavioural science with a body-oriented approach to healing through the practices yoga and mindfulness with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), often referred as third-wave cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), in a safe and accessible environment.
You will learn how to connect deeper with what is most important to you, accept what is outside of your control, let go of behaviours that no longer support you, and grow towards living an authentic, purposeful life. All bodies and abilities are welcome in this program. This is about YOUR movement and where your body and mind can take you. We will move our bodies through different asanas (postures) which will help us bring our minds and bodies into unison. In this program, we will focus on alternative ways you can process painful experiences and move forward in your life with passion and purpose.
The program allows you to connect with new people and practice skills together in a structured group. The focus of this program is not physical fitness but will provide you with simple yet powerful skills to enhance your psychological flexibility and maybe a little physical flexibility.
Participants will ideally attend all sessions as each session is designed to guide you into a deeper present-moment awareness and development of mindfulness to promote emotional balance, intentional living, and overall well-being.
Participants should be aware that this is a body-oriented approach that is experiential. Please expect physical movement, as it incorporates somatic and mindfulness practices to enhance learning.
Small group format in support of creating a safe and comfortable environment.
What to Expect:
Six (6) Weeks of 90-120 min LIVE somatic therapy group experience, facilitated by a registered social worker (RSW), experienced yoga teacher and therapist with over 20 years of experience
Small group format in support of creating a safe and supportive environment, to enhance experiential learning and build community.
Each group session includes an interpersonal group psychotherapy experience combined with trauma-sensitive experiential physical yoga (asana practice), breathwork (pranayama), mindful focus (dharana) and meditation (dhyana).
You will explore and integrate psychological flexibility skills as you learn and reconnect with your values, how to move in alignment with your values and what is most important to you, accept what is outside of your control, let go of behaviours that no longer support you, and grow towards living an authentic, purposeful life.
Each group is unique and supports building awareness skills in the present moment.
