In our first session, we are interested in learning what has brought you to counselling. We would like to get to know you, explore your strengths, and talk about what hopes and goals you would like to see from our work together.
We will also review practical issues such as privacy, confidentiality, and payment information.

Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and can be paid for through e-transfer, cheque, or credit card. You will be provided with an electronic receipt at the end of your session following payment being made.
Group sessions range from 1hr to full day experiences, depending on the group program you registered for.

Most often when clients are beginning therapy, it is helpful to meet on a weekly or biweekly basis to begin to address the issues and symptoms that are most distressing. For other clients, meeting less often suits their needs. Frequency of sessions is something that will be discussed with you on an individual basis after consideration of your circumstances.

Yes, we offer online/virtual or phone sessions. We typically use Zoom to meet online but can use FaceTime. Please note that FaceTime is compliant with personal health information protection however other video chat services like Skype are not. We also cannot guarantee privacy due to software or network security issues on your end.

Ssession rates ranges based on a few factors- individual or group, standard time (50min sessions - extended sessions are between $150 and $350
While fees are set, you can speak to the therapist about adjusting your appointment frequency to meet your counselling monthly budget.

Services are not covered by OHIP, however the services that we provide will be covered, for the most part, by your extended health benefits if they include coverage for counselling, psychotherapy or social work services.
It is your responsibility for payment of services and for you to seek reimbursement.
A receipt will be provided at the end of each session for reimbursement and tax purposes.
If you have only minimal coverage, please let us know. Short-term therapy can be of great benefit in helping you to find new ways of managing your difficulties to improve your quality of life.

We have a 48hr cancellation policy. Providing you give 48hr notice, you will not be charged for canceled appointments. We ask that you respect the therapist’s time, just as the therapist respects yours. If you do not attend your appointment and do not provide sufficient notice, the therapist will charge a full session fee.

No, you do not need a referral. You can call to set up the appointment yourself.
With your consent, we would be happy to send a consultation note to your doctor to help them document and guide the course of treatment. Please discuss this with your therapist.

Everything discussed within the context of this relationship is confidential and no information is released without your consent. There are a few exceptions required by law:
1. It is believed that you are at serious and imminent risk of harming yourself or others.
2. Where there is suspicion a child or youth may be at risk of harm.
3. It is believed that regulated health professional has sexually abused you.
4. If court ordered the submission of relevant client records by subpoena or production order.
